A groovy kind of love

Melo (the black one) is a hunter. He enjoys walking around unleashed in the countryside in search of critters to hunt. He is now old and has lost some of its agility and skill, but in his eyes is still visible the will to live.

Kika is not so old, and she has always been very pretty, except when she was born - there was no way of knowing if it was a dog or a kind of strange creature from another planet. At six months old she ran away from home and went missing 60 days, but at last she was found. It was a miracle! Since then she has always been very fearful, but she's been changing over time and today no longer seem to have much fear.

Melo and Kika have been married for years. They live together, sleep together, walk together... And together they had thirteen children (one of which, Raki, passed away last year). Sometimes I watch them two without them noticing and I get amazed. He spents time and time kissing her gently and she receives his kisses with much pleasure. And every night after dinner, she wants him to play together. So she stands in front of him and starts hopping and spinning on itself, to coax him. There are nights when he is playful and stands up to play with her for a while. But other nights he warns her with a soft sound that he doesn't feel like playing.

Melo and Kika are the irrefutable proof that love exists beyond the human being. I love them two, and they know it. And it hurts to think that one day I will be there and they won't.

Un amor maravilloso - Melo y Kika descansando juntos.

Melo (de color negro) es un cazador. Disfruta mucho paseando suelto por el campo en busca de alimañas que cazar. Ya está viejo y ha perdido parte de su agilidad y destreza, pero aún se le ve en sus ojos las ganas de vivir.

Kika no es tan vieja, y siempre fue muy guapa, salvo de recién nacida, que no había forma de saber si era una perrita o un extraño ser venido de otro planeta. Con seis meses de vida se escapó de casa y anduvo perdida 60 días, pero finalmente fue encontrada. ¡Fue un milagro! Y aunque desde entonces siempre fue muy miedosa, ha ido cambiando con el tiempo y hoy ya no parece que tenga tanto miedo.

Melo y Kika están casados desde hace ya años. Viven juntos, duermen juntos, pasean juntos... Y juntos han tenido trece hijos (uno de los cuales, Raki, ya no está entre nosotros). A veces les observo sin que se den cuenta y me quedo maravillado. Él se pasa grandes ratos besándola con dulzura y ella recibe sus besos con mucho placer. Y todas las noches, después de la cena, ella lo busca para jugar. Se planta ante él y empieza a dar saltitos y a dar vueltas sobre sí misma, para engatusarle. Hay noches en que él se anima y juega un rato. Pero otras noches le hace ver a ella con un ruido suave que no tiene ganas de jugar.

Melo y Kika son la prueba irrefutable de que el amor existe más allá del ser humano. Les quiero, y ellos lo saben. Y me duele pensar que un día yo estaré y ellos no.
